GTA Mzansi OBB File — Download, Placement & Errors Fixed (2026)

What is the OBB file?

The download comes in two parts:

• APK (12.28 MB) — the app itself, the icon you tap.
• OBB (857.80 MB) — the game data: map, cars, missions, radio audio. This is the big one.

The APK without the OBB is an empty shell — that's why the game crashes on launch if the OBB is missing or misplaced. Both files are on the download page.

Where does the OBB file go? (Exact path)

Three rules, no exceptions:

1. Internal storage, not the SD card. The game won't look at the SD card.
2. The folder name must stay exactly as extracted. Don't rename it, don't add spaces, don't "tidy it up."
3. No extra nesting. The game files must sit directly inside that folder — not inside a second folder inside it. If you see obb/[folder]/[folder]/files, you've extracted one level too deep. Move the inner folder up.

Step-by-step OBB placement

1. Download the OBB ZIP from the download page (use Wi-Fi — it's 857.80 MB).
2. Open it with your file manager or ZArchiver.
3. Our ZIPs have no password — if your extractor asks for one, the file didn't come from our download page; re-download it there.
4. Extract it. You'll get one folder.
5. Move that folder to Internal storage → Android → obb/.
6. Open it and check: you should see the game data files directly inside, not another folder.
7. Install the APK (if you haven't), grant storage permission, launch.

Common OBB errors and fixes

"Download failed because resources could not be found" The OBB isn't where the game expects it. Recheck the path and folder name, character by character.

Can't find the Android/obb folder On Android 11+, some file managers hide it. Use ZArchiver or your phone's built-in Files app — both can see and write to it. You may need to grant "all files access" when prompted.

Can I delete the OBB ZIP after installing?

Yes — once the folder is in Android/obb/ and the game runs, the ZIP is just taking up space. Keep it only if your data is expensive and you might reinstall.

No — each variant has its own OBB. Don't mix them; download the matching pair from the download page.
